Harvard Business School convened a series of panels with Jobs Council members to discuss Jobs and Competitiveness. Jobs Council members Jeff Immelt of General Electric, Robert Wolf of 32Advisors, Laura Tyson of UC Berkeley, and Darlene Miller of Permac Industries headlined the discussions with Harvard Business School students.

The President’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness convened a Listening and Action Session at the Yale CEO Summit at the New York Stock Exchange, where Jobs Council members Jeff Immelt of General Electric and Robert Wolf of UBS led a panel discussion on the economy and the recommendations of the Jobs Council.

The President’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness hosted a listening and action meeting in South Los Angeles on the occasion of Operation HOPE’s 20th Anniversary Bus Tour on April 24th, 2012. Jobs Council member Monica Lozano of ImpreMedia and Executive Director Don Graves were joined by Ambassador Andrew Young in a session to discuss the regional economy, small business development and job creation.

On March 29, the Council on Foreign Relations hosted a discussion in New York City with Council members Robert Wolf of UBS and Ellen Kullman of DuPont, along with Jeff Zients of the Office of Management and Budget on the work of the Jobs Council.

On Wednesday, March 14th, the President’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness in collaboration with engineering schools, Intel, Facebook, MTV and Google officially launched the STAY WITH IT campaign with a Day of Engineering on the campus of Georgia Tech.

On March 7, 2012, the President’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness convened a discussion on economic growth and job creation in San Francisco. A panel, featuring Laura Tyson of UC Berkley and Executive Director Don Graves, focused on topics of interest to the business leaders including innovation, infrastructure and entrepreneurship.

On Friday, February 3rd, the President’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness held a Listening and Action Session in Seattle, WA. The Jobs Council, in partnership with NASA Administrator Charles Bolden, discussed ways businesses and organizations like NASA can enhance educational opportunities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics beyond the classroom to develop a competitive and innovative workforce.
